This Privacy Policy is designed to inform you about how Systemedx Inc (“Systemedx”) collects and uses information you provide when you create a user account with the Systemedx XNet API. Systemedx may update this Privacy Policy or other privacy notices established for other Systemedx websites at any time, and future updates to the Privacy Policy will be effective as soon as they are posted on this page. Developers may access documentation on Systemedx's implementation of OAuth 2.0 and the FHIR APIs that access certain data elements in the U.S. Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI) data standard. Through XNet, developers may also acquire client IDs for their applications. In order to provide you with access to XNet, Systemedx may collect and use your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information That You Provide to Systemedx

We collect your personal information in order to set up a User Account, and you send this information to Systemedx when you request your account. Specifically, Systemedx may collect the following information:

You can decide how much additional information you want to share with us in those cases.

You may also log into XNet using your credentials for Systemedx’s API Portal, if applicable. If you log into XNet with your user credentials, your contact information will automatically be added to your User Account.

How Do We Use Your Information?

The information that you provide us, whether through the creation of a User Account or in other ways as you use XNet, will be processed by Systemedx for as long as you are enrolled in XNet and after you cease using XNet. In addition to using your information to provide you access to XNet, we will use your information for purposes such as:

When you provide your information directly to Systemedx via XNet, your information will be accessed by Systemedx staff, and your contact information may be made available to Systemedx’s customers. The Systemedx staff that will regularly access your information is limited to those that provide technical or operational support for XNet, those that develop XNet, and Systemedx’s information technology and operations teams.

Systemedx will retain your information for as long as it makes use of such information as a part of your continued use of XNet and to carry out Systemedx’s legitimate business or legal purposes. By creating your User Account, you agree to allow us to retain your information in accordance with this policy.

How We Protect Your Information

We use a combination of process, technology, and physical security controls to help protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of storage, is 100% secure.

When we collect your information through operation of XNet, that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the top or bottom of your web browser, or looking for "https" at the beginning of the URL address of the web page. Employees or partners of Systemedx who have access to your personal information in connection with providing XNet are required to keep the information confidential and are not permitted to use your information for any purpose other than carrying out the services they are performing. However, despite our efforts, no security controls are 100% effective, and we cannot completely ensure or warrant the security of your information.
